Who are FindABrick UK Ltd.’s suppliers?
FindABrick UK Ltd. distributes bricks manufactured in the UK, including Ibstock, Forterra, Michelmersh, Sussex Handmade Brick, York Handmade Bricks, Furness Brick, and W H Collier. We also supply European, Scandinavian, and Asian bricks that are manufactured to UK specifications.
How do I know how many bricks I will need for my project?
The most popular type of wall consists of a ‘single skin’ of brickwork. Laid in this manner each square metre of brickwork will require 60 metric bricks. Imperial sized bricks are 10% to 15% larger and so typically each square metre of brickwork will require 53 bricks. A variety of different sized bricks are imported from Europe and FindABrick UK Ltd. are here to help you quantity what you will need. Does FindABrick UK Ltd. charge for samples?
Generally, no. Regular sample panels and 3 brick boxed samples are free of charge. Most manufacturers are willing to send out Site reference panels of 60 bricks on a pallet for multi plot developments or single plot new builds where at least a full load of bricks is required.
Do you give advice on what mortars to use with any bricks we might buy from FindABrick UK Ltd.?
We pass on the manufacturers’ recommendations, along with specific technical data sheets from the manufacturers’ websites.
What do I need to do in order to get FindABrick UK Ltd. to do a brick match for me?
The quickest and simplest way is to upload images of the existing brickwork to the website on the contact form. Just 1 close up and one photo from 3 to 4 meters away is sufficient to be able to identify what the original bricks were. Alternatively, the photos can be sent by WhatsApp on +44 798 658 2870.
What if the original bricks used on my property are no longer available?
In recent years, many brick works in the UK have shut down, making indigenous bricks harder to come by. Nevertheless, there are many good replicates being made and imported which give reasonably close matches. FindABrick UK Ltd. can identify these close alternatives and send you sample panels for you to select what you see as the closest match currently available.
